Dutch startup Euclyd raised a roughly $230 million Series A co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, EQT's Scaleup Europe Fund and Innovation Industries to build a non-GPU AI inference chip system. The round adds to a wave of investment in Nvidia alternatives, including in-house chip efforts at OpenAI, Google, AWS and Meta. Euclyd's systems are unproven at commercial scale, with hardware rollouts targeted for 2028. For financial institutions, this is another data point on capital flowing toward diversifying the AI silicon supply base ahead of any demonstrated commercial validation.
